Atomic Chemical Structures

Atomic Chemical Structures with Mariama Hilliard

Project Title: "Mixed Reality Atomic Chemical Structures"

Project Description: Many high school and undergraduate students struggle to grasp atomic structures in their chemistry classes. This MR project provides an immersive experience, allowing students to explore and interact with atomic models firsthand. Users can select atoms from any element in the periodic table and examine their internal structures in both guided and sandbox modes. With the ability to scale, rotate, and compare atoms and their orbitals side by side, this interactive approach helps students develop a clearer, more intuitive understanding of complex atomic concepts.

Principal Investigator: Marc Knecht, Ph.D., Department of Chemistry
